Levi Shivers Strickland

Levi Shivers Strickland, enlisted in the CSA in Hardeman County, Tennessee and served in two regiments before joining General Nathan B. Forrest's calvary where he completed most of his 4-year-service. He participated in several battles, including Bryce's Crossroad near Baldwyn, Mississippi. He and his wife, Mary Wilhelm Strickland, made Baldwyn their home after the war and then moved to Van Zandt County in 1897. Along with their children, the family made Martin's Mill their home. Levi, his wife Mary, and many of his sons, grandchildren, and descendants are buried along side them in Holly Springs Cemetery.
