Welcome to Waller County! My name is Peggy and I am the new county coordinator. I would like to thank the previous coordinator, Lynwood Peterson, for his dedication and devotion to the site the past 10 years. His hard work is greatly appreciated!
Waller County was created by a special act of the Thirteenth State Legislature passed April 28,1873. It was named after Edwin Waller a co-signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. It was formed out of lands formally a part of Austin and Grimes Counties. The county seat is in Hempstead, Texas..
