"Rumbaugh Oration Contest"

It’s time once again to pick the oration contestant who will represent the Capt. William Barron Chapter at the regional competition at Plano later this month.  If our contestant wins at regional, he or she will compete with the other regional winners across Texas for the chance to compete at the National level.

Those speech and debate students who wish to compete in the Rumbaugh Oration contest must chose a topic relating to the Revolutionary War.  The topic can be about a famous person, battle of the Revolutionary War, or other facets of the war.  Each contestant has five to six minutes to give their presentation from memory.  Contestants are graded on delivery, body language, appearance, quality and accuracy of subject presented, as well as staying within the time frame allowed.

Come join us in listening to these accomplished oration and debate students who represent one of the finest speech and debate schools in the state of Texas.
