Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak is Chief Family Historian and
North American spokeswoman for Ancestry.com. She is the co-founder
of Roots Television, a pioneering and popular online channel of
genealogy and history-oriented programming. She is the author of
several books, her most recent being Trace Your Roots with DNA: Using
Genetic Tests to Explore Your Family Tree, co-authored with Ann Turner,
M.D. She is the winner of four writing awards from the
