Pecan-Date Cheese Ball

2 packages (8-oz each) cream cheese, softened

1/4 C. mayonnaise

1 tsp ground nutmeg

2 tsp prepared mustard

2 c shredded cheddar cheese

1 c chopped dates

1 c chopped pecans

Crackers

 

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.  Add nutmeg and mustard, and mix thoroughly.  Stir in the cheddar cheese and dates.  Chill for 15 minutes.  Shape into a ball; roll in pecans. 

 

Chill thoroughly before serving.  Serve with crackers.

Yield:  two 4-inch balls.
