THE SAN ANGELO TIMES 6/21/99 RUTH NAOMI WILLIAMS BARNES Ruth Naomi Williams Barnes, 91, of San Angelo died Saturday, June 19, 1999, in a local nursing home. Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Maxwell officiating. Graveside service will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 21, in Kermit Cemetery in Kermit. Mrs. Barnes was born Feb. 16, 1908, in Gadsden, Ala., to Leon Coker Williams and Lizzie Barto Broom Williams. She married Marion DeWitt Barnes on July 27, 1928, in Monahans. She was a member of the Church of Pentecost. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 10, 1973; two sons, M.D. Barnes Jr. and A.L. "Buddy" Barnes; two sisters, Nell Schlotte and Fannie Latham; and two brothers, Loyd Williams and John Williams. Mrs. Barnes will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who always put others before herself and showed her love for her family and friends. Her laughter no matter the circumstances endeared her to many. She is survived by her children, Robert Lee Barnes and wife, Chris, of San Angelo, Billie Pierce and husband, Walter, of Spring, Nell Maxwell and husband, Wayne, of San Angelo, Frank Barnes and wife, Jeri, of Del Rio, and Judy Northcutt and husband, Robert, of San Angelo; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
