Yvonne was born January 27, 1935 in Morton Valley, Texas to Wilburn and Berniece Tankersley. Both parents and a brother, Paul Tankersley, precede Yvonne in death. Yvonne attended school in Morton Valley where she was a captain and star of the girls’ basketball team. At this time she met Charles E. Dick, whom she married on June 7, 1953 in Eastland. Yvonne and Charles lived in Kermit for 47 years, 44 of which were in the same home; only recently moving to Odessa. They were blessed with 5 children, Bunny, Valerie, Cynthia, Michael, and Jana. Cooking and baking were some of Yvonne’s enjoyable pastimes, although her favorite was spending time with her grandchildren. The love that Yvonne and Charles share shows and overflows to all who are blessed by knowing them. Yvonne fought a long hard battle with cancer, but did not lose. Through our Lord Jesus she has gained the victory. Waiting to greet her in Heaven are her earthly parents, Wilburn and Berniece Tankersley, and brother, Paul Tankersley. Yvonne and Charles loved their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly, and rest secure in the knowledge that one day they will be reunited. Yvonne is survived by her beloved husband, Charles; daughters, Bunny Chapman of Andrews; Valerie Duncan and husband, Joe; Cynthia McNabb and husband Bobby; and Jana Dick, all of Odessa; son, Michael and wife Deena of Shallowater; three sisters, Dorothy Sturm of Vidor; Brenda Warren of Midland; Gracie Pleasant Lautaret of Longview; and two brothers, Larry Tankersley of Cisco; and JB Tankersley of Phoenix, Ariz.
