The Winkler County News, Nov.1, 1984 ARNOLD H. EVANS Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov.2, for Arnold H. Evans, 85, of Kermit. Rev. David Weynart will officiate at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Kermit Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Chapel. He died Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1898 in Albany Ky. And married Mae Margaret Brown March 5, 1919 in Tecumseh, Ok. He was a Methodist, World War Veteran and a retired plant superintendent for Cabot Plant. He had lived in Kermit 43 years, moving here from Monument N.M. Evans was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Leroy Evans. Survivors include his wife of Kermit; one daughter, Mrs. Hack (Maxine) Sims of Odessa; one brother, Paul Evans of Troup; two sisters, Boots Evans of Jacksonville; and Beth McKnight of Santa Rosa, Ca.; four grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Raymond Myers, E.E. Spangler, J.M. Lipham, Cecil Odom, John Gammill, and John B. Coffey.
