KERMIT -- Services for Jewel Pearl Whitling of Kermit will be held at 2 p.m. CDT Sunday, Sept. 2, at United Pentecostal Church in Kermit. Brother Roy Walls and brother Stanley Huffy will officiate. Burial will follow at Kermit Cemetery. 

Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Chapel of Kermit. 

Mrs. Whitling, 85, was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Comanche, Texas. She died Friday, Aug. 31, at her home. 

She married Harold Whitling Sr. on Nov. 30, 1933, in Eastland County, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1994. 

Mrs. Whitling was a homemaker and a 65-year resident of Kermit. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church. 

Survivors include a son, Harold Whitling Jr. of Weatherford, Texas; three daughters, Mary Lenard and Wanda Buffington, both of Hobbs, and Betty Venegas of Kermit; a brother, Raymond Pearson of Lamar, Colo.; a sister, Velma Brown of Eastland, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
