Joe Lewis Rivera

Joe Lewis "Corky" Rivera grew up in Kermit, Texas. He was active in sports, played football, basketball and excelled in baseball. He enlisted in the Army in May 1969 and began his tour in Vietnam as an infantryman on November 25, 1969 and was killed three months later. He was buried with full military honors in his hometown of Kermit, Texas. He is remembered on the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial located in Midland, Texas.
