Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Friday at the Kermit Cemetery with the Rev. Emmett Upchurch officiating. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel. He was born in Dewar, Okla., and was a resident of Kermit for eight years. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Christ. SURVIVORS: Wife, Corrine Slay of Kermit; sons, James Slay of Cushing, Okla., Mark Slay of Kermit, Scott Slay of Pampa, Gary Slay of Fort Smith, Ark., Jerry Slay of Georgia and Pat Slay of Cedarville, Ark.; brothers, Bobby Slay of Amarillo, Leroy Slay of Muskogee, Okla., and Jack Slay of Perry, Okla.; sisters, Helen Downing of Seminole, Okla., and Glenda Sue Elling of Plano; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
