November 26, 1999 THE ODESSA AMERICAN [http://www.oaoa.com] Lloyd King Watkins ODESSA — Lloyd King Watkins, 89, of Odessa, died Nov. 23, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1910, in Lexington, Okla. He married Dola B. Thompson July 19, 1957, in Kermit. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Mr. Watkins moved to Kermit from Okla. in 1955 and worked throughout West Texas and N.M. in the oilfields. He moved to Odessa in 1961 from Kermit and worked for Cashway Lumber for 10 years before he retired. He was a Baptist. He is preceded in death by a brother, Herman Watkins, sister, Pauline Logan, stepdaughter, Patricia Garner and stepbrother, Jerry Green. He is survived by his wife, Dola Watkins of Odessa, son, Gordon Watkins of Arcadia, Calif., daughters, Jane Wilson of Homa, La. and Bonnie Mullins of Houston, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brothers, Oris Watkins of Midwest City, Ore., Oral Watkins of Kingman, Ariz., Lucian Watkins of Bakersfield, Calif., sisters, Gwen Cline of Midland, Mildred Talley of Odessa, and step-son; Mike Thomas of Odessa.
