GENfair
The On-line Family History Fair
The INTERNET provides this established service at the Web address of http://www.genfair.com. GENfair provides an Internet shopping facility for family history research.
GENfair is available to all that have a computer, a credit card (please note, only VISA and Mastercard (including ACCESS) can be accepted) and an email address and is always ‘open’.
Visitors to GENfair will be able to purchase publications and also to pay their subscriptions to the Herefordshire Family History Society.
Every visitor to GENfair is supplied with a ‘virtual’ shopping basket and can add any item to the basket by clicking on a button next to the item description. A BASKET REVIEW page enables the shopper to see the contents, so that they can check and remove items, etc before sending their order.
On clicking the final SUBMIT button, the order details are sent to GENfair, the credit card details being encrypted by the secure server. GENfair administers the validation and processing of the card details through its credit card merchant account and then passes the orders on to the Society for fulfilment.
GENfair opens up a wider, international market for the goods and services of British Family History Societies. It overcomes the barriers of currency conversion and postal delays in ordering. Even if you do not wish to buy, please take time to visit.
