HEREFORDSHIRE NEWSPAPERS
In 1890 the following local newspapers were in circulation:
Hereford Times and General Advertiser for the United Kingdom - published by the proprietors Messrs Charles and Edwyn Anthony. It was established in 1832 and printed every Friday evening for Saturday - price 'tuppencehalfpenny' - Politics Liberal. (This newspaper is still in circulation.)
Hereford Journal and General Advertiser for the Counties of Hereford, Brecon, Radnor, Monmouth, Salop, Worcester and Gloucester, published by Mr. John McCoy. Established 1713, printed every Friday evening for Saturday - price 'one penny' - Politics Conservative.
The Public Library, Broad Street , Hereford, HR4 9AU (Telephone 01432 272456) archives the complete issues of the Hereford Times (from 1832 to date) and the Hereford Journal (from 1770 to 1932). Other Newspapers as shown below.
