Herefordshire FHS publications can be purchased and subscriptions paid on the website www.parishchest.com. This site provides an Internet shopping facility for family historians.
It is available to all that have a computer, a credit card (all the principal credit and debit cards are accepted by Parish Chest ie Visa, Delta, MasterCard, Switch, American Express and Solo) and an email address and is always ‘open’.
Every visitor to is supplied with a ‘virtual’ shopping basket and can add any item to the basket by clicking on a button next to the item description. A BASKET REVIEW page enables the shopper to see the contents, so that they can check and remove items, etc before sending their order.
On clicking the final SUBMIT button, the order details are sent to Parish Chest, the credit card details being encrypted by the secure server. After the validation and processing of the card details the orders are passed on to the Society for fulfilment.
This opens up a wider, international market for the goods and services of British Family History Societies. It overcomes the barriers of currency conversion and postal delays in ordering. Even if you do not wish to buy, please take time to visit.
