Peter Mock:
I
got interested in genealogy a couple of years ago when I borrowed a
book about family research from our public library. I read through it
and it really sounded like this could be an interesting hobby.
Since then I have gathered have numerous files of old documents and
also hundreds of letters from people all over the world. One of these
people is Mrs. Dickenson. She helped me a lot in my research and eventually
we became a really good team. One day we decided that all the information
about Kleinliebental that we collected over the years, should be made
available for the public. The result of this idea is the Kleinliebental
Homepage.
My grandparents are Elisabeth Moser Mock and Peter Mock. They both were
born in the village of Kleinliebental in 1920 and 1918 respectively.
My mother's parents are also German Russians, they are from the small
daughter colony of Krasna/Beresan.
I hope the Kleinliebental Homepage will wake up your interest
for this beautiful village and will help you with your research. Thanks
to everybody who made this homepage possible!

PS: I dedicate this homepage to my grandparents, because they are the
most admirable people I know and because I love them above all.

Doris Malsam Dickenson:
After my retirement as an elementary
school teacher, I began to seriously research my German Russian history.
My father, Alphonse Malsam, was born in Kleinliebental in 1884 and arrived
in America in 1900. My research was a voyage of discovery because he
never talked about his family or his German Russian origins.
I have been interested not
only in my own family origins, but life in Kleinliebental in general,
and in the other families who lived there with my ancestors. Two of
the highest points in my life were the two visits I made to the ancestral
village in Ukraine, one in 1991 and the other in 1993.
I write articles occasionally for German Russian journals. I am anxious
to help others learn about the ancestral village and to help them make
contact with other Kleinliebental researchers. There are so many projects
I want to share with others. I was delighted when Peter, then living
in his native Germany, put me in touch with a Malsam cousin none of
us in America even knew about. Later, I was especially pleased when
he decided to use his considerable computer skills to put a Kleinliebental
Homepage on the Internet.
I contribute some of my own material to the homepage and help with the
English translations.
I live in a semi-rural area of Northern
California, I have four children, only one of whom is interested in
genealogy, three grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
