| When the David Jackson Israel family moved from McPherson County, KS to Oklahoma Territory in the fall of 1899, the oldest son, Clay Noid left ahead of the remainder of his family and headed toward Kendrick, OK (Lincoln Co) with a wagon load of family possessions. He was alone and was murdered enroute. Neither his killer nor family possessions were ever found. |

| Alexander (Alex) Connolly was
married three times. Mary Turner died soon after giving birth to Elizabeth,
wife number two was Jane Gokey and his third wife was Eliza Gokey. Alex's
children numbers 3 thru 7 were with his third wife, Eliza, who herself had been married
previously. Gokey was Eliza's married name and she had 2 children by that earlier
marriage and those children were Lewis and Frank Gokey. Eliza Gokey was an Ottawa. It is believed that Alex's second wife, Jane, may have died in KS., as did his first wife Mary Turner. A large part of the Sac & Fox Tribe moved from KS to their new reservation in Indian Terriitory several years earlier than Alex. He was one of the hold-outs who did not want to be forced to move from their reservation in KS. Alex was one of the Tribal Interpreters and served briefly in the Tribes' police force. His Oklahoma home was located just across the highway east of the present day Sac & Fox Tribal Headquarters Building, about 10 miles south of Stroud. Alex believed he had been born in 1847, on the Sac & Fox Reservation at Quenemo, KS. He died in Sept, 1936. His Indian name was Wah Wah To Saw. His parents were Thomas Jefferson Connolly and Kish ka swaw. After the death of Thomas Jefferson Connolly (in Kansas), Kish ka swaw remarried and came to Indian Territory with the original band of the Sac & Fox. |
