LIEUT. COL. HORACE E. McDONALD,

BORN in Belfast, October 21, 1842, of Scotch ancestry, was educated in the public schools. He has been city marshal and chief engineer of his native city for three years. Col. McDonald by trade is a jeweler, though interested in ship-building under the firm name of McDonald & Brown. He has always been a stanch Republican, having cast his first vote for Abraham Lincoln, and is highly esteemed by his many acquaintances.
