HANSEN,
HANS CHRISTIAN (son of Jens Hansen and Charlotte Sophia Dorthea Petersen
(Mickelsen). Born Sept. 14, 1850, Roskeld, Denmark. Came to Utah September,
1853, with father. Married Mary Leonora Morley Jan. 3, 1870, Salt Lake
City (daughter of Isaac Morley and Hannah Blaisley Finch of Montague, Mass.,
pioneers 1847). She was born March 26, 1852. Their children: Hannah Charlotte
b. March 4, 1871, m. John William McDonald; Effie Leonora b. June 20, 1872,
m. Christian Christiansen; Jens Isaac b. Nov. 11, 1874, d. infant; Lafayette
b. Dec. 31, 1875, m. Effie Pulsipher; Ellen b. Feb. 18, 1877, m. John Frederick
Larsen; Edwinetta b. Feb. 6, 1879, d. child; Hans Willis b. Sept. 13, 1881,
d. child; Mary Rosalind b. Feb. 7, 1885, m. Leroy Livingston; Joseph Morley
b. May 21, 1887, d. child; Lucy Cordelia b. June 1, 1889; Francis Leon
b. Sept. 1, 1892. Family home Molen (Ferron), Utah. High priest; counselor
to Bishops Lyman S. Beach and Hans Peter Rasmussen; presiding elder of
Molen ward; Sunday school superintendent; ward chorister; president Y.
M. M. I. A. Has assisted in making canals, wagon roads, and in developing
the country in and around Manti and Ferron. Black Hawk Indian war veteran.

ARTHUR JAMES (son of William Walker Jeffs and Emma Summers). Born May
17, 1855, in England. Married Lucinda Seely Dec. 12, 1876, Mt. Pleasant,
Utah (daughter of William Stewart Seely and Elizabeth DeHart of Mt. Pleasant,
pioneers Sept. 29, 1847, John Taylor company). She was born Nov, 1, 1859.
Their children: William Arthur b. March 12, 1878, m. Sarah A. Stott; Moroni
Raymond b. March 6, 1881, m. Merlie Bouldin; Emma Elizabeth b. Oct. 24,
1883, m. Alford D. Dixon; Alice Seely b. Aug. 12, 1886; George Nephi b.

JOHN YOUNG. Bishop of the Castle Dale Ward, Emery Stake, Utah, from
1898 to 1906, was born April 18, 1858, in Ravnholt, Denmark, the son of
Niels Christian Jensen and Karen Sejersen. He was baptized in 1866 in Denmark,
and came to Utah the same year. He was ordained a High Priest Aug. 12,

JAMES (son of Rasmus Petersen and Annia Marie Hansen, both of Fyen,
Denmark, who died of cholera near Quincy, Ill., while en route to Utah).
Born April 28, 1868, at Fyen. Came to Utah September. 1866, Abner Lowry
company. Married Anna Eliza Rasmussen Oct. 16, 1879. Mt. Pleasant, Utah
(daughter of Rasmus Rasmussen and Maria Christine Johanstatter of Fyen,
Denmark), who was born Jan. 13, 1860. Their children: Elsina Maria b. Sept.
4, 1880; Annie Johanna b. Dec. 8, 1882, m. William E. King; James Erastus
b. March 30, 1885, died; Dianthy Sephrona b. May 26, 1887, m. Andrew O.
Larson; Parley b. March 30, 1889; Leo Wilford b. May 18. 1891; Delbert
b. June 15, 1893; Vern b. Dec. 12, 1895; Myrtle Amanda b. March 12, 1898;
Rex b. Oct. 11, 1900; Blenda Irene b. Nov. 14, 1902. Family home Castle
Dale, Utah. High priest; ward clerk; high councilor; member stake board
of education; president of town board. School trustee. Merchant; farmer.
An early settler at Castle Dale. Has done much to build up Emery county.

| SEELEY, ORANGE. First counselor in the Emery Stake presidency, Utah, from 1880 to 1899, was born Feb. 20, 1843, in Nashville, Lee Co., Iowa, the son of Justus W. Seely and Clarissa Jane Wilcox. He was baptized when eight years old, came to the Valley in 1847, was ordained a Bishop in 1877 and presided over the Mt. Pleasant North Ward. Later he presided over the Castle Dale, Ferron and Huntington Wards successively. (Source: Jenson, Andrew.
