John M. Higbee
DUP Obituary Scrapbook (1933-1939)
CEDAR CITY--John M. Higbee, age 66 was buried yesterday in the Cedar
City cemetery. Mr. Higbee was born in Cedar City and was the son of
John M. Higbee, one of the early pioneer of Iron county. After reaching
maturity he was called to assist in the establishment of Mormon Colonies
in Arizona. he spent four years as a missionary in the Western States
mission and was also employed for some time with the Danielson Plow
company at Independence, Co. It was while engaged in this latter work
that he met his wife Bertha than a recent convert to the church.
Services were conducted yesterday afternoon at the Cedar City Third
ward chapel. The speakers were James Parry. Henry Lunt, R. B. Gardner,
and Samuel F. Leigh, who was a missionary companion of the deceased.
Music for the occasion was furnished by the Cedar Third ward choir
and by a mixed quartet.
