PAROWAN--Funeral services for James Ambrose Hyatt, 74, lifelong resident of
Parowan, were conducted Wednesday in Parowan West L. D. S. ward chapel.
Burial was in Parowan city cemetery.
Mr. Hyatt died at the family home Monday following an extended illness of
heart disease. He was born in Parowan, October 16, 1863, a son of John S.
and Martha Newberry Hyatt. His wife, Mrs. Ellen Melissa Hyatt, died two
months ago. Mr. Hyatt had been an operator of the municipal light plant in
Parowan for 10 years.
Surviving are 10 sons and daughters, Mrs. Priscilla H. Skougarde and Mrs.
Loreta H. Walton, Parowan; Mrs. Madge M. Barnes and Glen D. Hyatt, Salt Lake
City; Mrs. Calista Nowers and Mrs. Grace D. Nowers, Beaver, and Ireeman W.,
Donald D. and Ross D. Hyatt and Mrs. Maud Loughren, Long Beach, Cal.; 11
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Melissa H. Benson and Mrs. Nellie H.
Taylor, both of Parowan, and a brother, Herbert S. Hyatt Parowan.
