Ralph Wallace Maxwell
Mr. Maxwell was born May 11, 1862, at Peoa, a son of Ralph and
Isabella McGavis Maxwell, pioneers of Utah. During his early life,
Mr. Maxwell engaged in farming and later entered the mercantile
business. He took an active part in civic and religious affairs of
Peoa. For several years he served as first counselor to Thomas L. Allen,
president of the Summit L. D. S. stake. Following his retirement 10
years ago, he moved to Salt Lake, where he had been engaged in temple
work as long as his health permitted.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fanny Maxwell of Salt Lake;
three daughters, Mrs. Dora Appgood of Malad, Idaho; Mrs. Ella Bleazard
of Tooele and Mrs. Grace Sergeant of Hoytsville; five sons,
James P. Maxwell of Peoa, Ivin L. Maxwell of Brigham City,
Elmer Maxwell of Park City. Orson Maxwell of Salt Lake and
Arvel Maxwell of Ventura, Cal.; 25 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jennette Miles of Ioka;
Mrs. Sarah Walker of Salt Lake, and Mrs. Grace Meliner of Caldwell,
Idaho, and a brother, Robert Maxwell of California.
The body will be taken to Peoa for burial.
