    CEDAR CITY.--Mrs. Mary Jane Schlappy Olsen, 70, of Leeds, died at 
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herber Haight, in Cedar City, Thursday 
morning after a long illness.
  
    She was born in Salt Lake, October 25, 1861, and was married to 
E. C. Olsen, February 27, 1879, at St. George, She had been active as 
an L. D. S. Church worker in the Leeds ward, where for 27 years she 
was postmaster.
  
    Surviving are her husband, four daughters and two sons: 
Mrs. Mayme C. Colbath and Mrs. Margaret Height, Cedar City; 
Mrs. Lyle Sullivan, Hurricane; Mrs. Hazel Moody, St. George; 
Glen R. Olsen, Provo; Geerge H. Olsen, Leeds; 28 grandchildren 
and one great-grandchild; one brother, Henry Schlappy, Delta; 
three sisters, Mrs. Julia Andrus, Gooding, Idaho; 
Mrs. Chlorinda Schmutz and Mrs. Maggie Wolfenstine, St. George.
  
    Funeral services will be conducted in Leeds Friday at 1 p.m., 
with interment in Leeds city cemetery.
