Mary Elizabeth Clark Orton, 30 Jan 1868 - 5 Aug 1936

PAROWAN--Mrs. Mary Clark Orton. 68. widow of Albert H. Orton, died Wednesday 
morning at her home after a lingering llness.  She was one of the earliest 
school teachers of Parowan, had been assistant to her father, Edgar L. 
Clark, first post master of Parowan; was a member of the Daughters of Utah 
Pioneers and had done considerable genealogical research in connection with
temple work.

    Born January 30, 1868, at Parowan. she was a daughter of Edgar L. and Mary 
Jane Roberts Clark.  She had resided at Parowan all her life.

    Surviving are a son, Clark Orton, Parowan three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn 
Benson, Miss Dorothy Orton and Mrs. J. K. Booth. all of Salt Lake City: ten 
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters. Mrs. Dorothy Ward and 
Mrs. Alice Mitchell, Parowan, and two brothers, Edgar and Saunders Clark, 
Parowan.

    Burial will be in the Parowan cemetery.
