Gottlieb T. Wuertz


     Funeral services for Gottlieb T. Wuertz, 78, St. George who
died on Oct. 29, in the Dixie Hospital of cancer were held
Thursday, Oct. 31, at 11:a.m. in the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel
with Bishop Jack Mathis of the Second Ward Officiating.
Interment was in the St. George City Cemetery under direction
of Metcalf Mortuary where Military honors were accorded
by the Cottam Hafen Post of the V.F.W.

     Mr. Wuertz was born June 26, 1896, in Belleville, Illinois, the
son of William F. and Rosa Beyer Wuertz.  He married Evangeline
Fording, June 2, 1925, in Los Angeles, Calif.  He served in the
U. S. Army during both World War 1 and again during World War 2.
Employed many years as a supervisor for the Los Angeles Railway.  
Came to St. George in 1956 following his retirement.  Member of
the LDS Church.  Members of the St. George Post of the American
Legion.

     Survivors are his wife of St. George.  Two brothers:  Charley
of Overland, Missouri, LeRoy of East St. Louis, Illinois.  Two
sisters:  Mrs. Elenor Cohan, St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Bessie
Ford of East St. Louis, Illinois.
