The Alleghany Highlands Genealogical Society (AHGS) is active in preserving the genealogical records of Alleghany County and the surrounding areas in Virginia and West Virginia. You are invited to visit our Library and Archives at the above location. Our hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 am - 3 pm.  We try to accommodate by appointment those who travel some distance and cannot visit Covington on these days.  Call or e-mail Inna Henderson at 540-962-1501 or email InnaMcAlli@aol.com or yorkylvr@intelos.net.  We will be excited to welcome you and the chance to show you around. The Society meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at 1011 North Rockbridge Street Suite 102, Covington, VA.
