SIMPSON-GILLESPIE (?), August County, ca 1756. Searching for details of the James Simpson vs. Margaret Campbell Case in 1756 in Augusta County. William and Mary Gillespie and Robert Gillespie were named as witnesses. Hoping to learn if there is a family relation between Simpson and Gillespie, Mary especially. Was she possibly nee Mary Simpson? If so, that would be evidence that William and Mary were the parents of Thomas Gillespie (1757-1842) of Tazewell County. A reference to this case is found in "Centennial History of Allegheny County," p. 12-13, but I gather the details are not spelled out (the book is unavailable here).
