HASKINS, Lawrence Elwood Sr., 73, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, February 1, 1996. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Survivors include one brother, Edward Haskins, Springwood; daughters, Mornique Smith, Virginia, Vanessa and Fayleen Haskins, all of Roanoke; sons, David, Colorado Spring, Colo., and Henry Haskins, Roanoke; nieces, Constance Clerk, Hillside, N.J. and Barbara Crawford, Covington. Mr. Haskins was formerly married to Mrs. Pauline Haskins of Roanoke. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one son-in-law; two daughters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. The Rev. Rawleigh Quarles will officiate, with interment in the Jackson Baptist Church Cemetery, Springwood. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis.
