John Harris to Daniel Duckwiler, 117 Acres in Botetourt County

 

This Indenture made this Day of November 1797 by

and Between John Harris of Botetourt County of the one part

and Daniel Duckwilder of the Said County of the other part Witnesseth

that the Said John Harris for and in consideration of the

sum twenty pounds current money of Virginia to Him in

Hand paid. The receipt hereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath given

granted bargained and Sold unto the Said Daniel Duck-

wilder one certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing One

hundred and Seventeen acres Lying and being in the County

aforesaid on the Waters of Back Creed and Bounded as

followeth to Wit: Beginning at two Poplars and a Lynn in

a Hollow thence North Sixteen Degrees West Thirty two Poles to

two chestnut trees on the foot of the Mountain thence North

thirty Eight Degrees East Fifty Six Poles to three Hicories North

……. degrees west forty eight poles to a White Oak and

red Oak South Twenty two Degrees west three poles

to two Dodgoods (sic) and Chesnut corner to the Old Survey

and with the Old Lines South Seventy Seven degrees

West One Hundred and fifty Poles to two Chesnut trees

and Hickory South Seventy Eight Poles to a Black Oak

and Leaving the Old lines South fifty five Degrees East

Ninety Eight Poles to a Chesnut on the Side of the Mountain

thence North fifty two Degrees East ninety poles to the

Beginning together with the Revision and revisions

Remainder and remainders and every part and

parcell thereof to Have and to Hold the above granted

land with the appurtenances unto the said Daniel

Duckwiler his heirs and assigns forever and he the Said

John Harris doth for himself his Heirs Covenant grant

and agree to and with the Said Daniel Duckwiler and

his Heirs the above granted Land shall and will by

these presents Warrant and forever Defend in Witness

hereof the Said Harris hath Set his hand and Seal the

Date and Year above Written
