This Indenture made this twenty fifth Day of September 1780 BETWEEN Amos Nanney and Tabitha Nanney of the County of Brunswick in State of Virginia and Calap Manning of the County and Colony aforesaid . . . for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds . . . hath bargained and sold infeot (sic) and surrendered unto the said Calap Manning . . . a certain Tract or parcel of Land situate in Brunswick County BEGINNING at a corner shrub oak on Owen Myricks line thence along a branch to a corner Posimon tree thence to a corner Maple, thence to the BEGINNING containing twelve acres . . . Signed by Amos Nanney and witnessed by Edmund Webb, James Fletcher and John Fletcher. At a Court held for Brunswick County the 27th Day of November 1780. This Indenture was acknowledged by Amos Nanney a party thereto and Ordered to be Recorded. Deed Book 14, page 82.
This Indenture made this twelfth Day of May, 1780 BETWEEN William Dailey & Patsey his wife of Meherrin Parish and County of Brunswick of the one part and John Sturdivant of the Parish and County aforesaid of the other part . . . for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand and ten pounds . . doth grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said John Sturdivant . . . all that certain tract or parcel of Land whereon the said William Dailey now lives in the Parish and County aforesaid it being the third part of three hundred and twenty acres of Land that William Dailey decd. devised unto his son William Dailey in his last will and Testament, it being the upper end of the said Tract joining the said Sturdivants Land . . . Signed by William Dailey and Patsey Dailey (her mark) and witnessed by Christen Curtis, Reuben Melone, and John Wills. At a Court held for Brunswick County the 22d Day of January 1781. This Indenture was acknowledged by William Dailey and Patsey his wife parties thereto, she having been first privily examined as the Law directs, and Ordered to be Recorded. Deed Book 14, page 84.
This Indenture made this twenty first Day of May, 1780 BETWEEN Peter Randle of the County of Montgomery in the State of North Carolina and Mary his wife of the one part and Willis Wills of the Parish of Meherrin and County of Brunswick of the other part . . . for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand pounds . . . doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Willis Wills . . . all that Tract or parcel of Land whereon the said Peter Randle formerly lived lying and being in the aforesaid County of Brunswick containing by estimation five hundred and fifteen acres . . . and bounded as follows (to wit) BEGINNING at [----] joining the Land formerly belonging to Richard Randle now in the possession of Swanson then running (sic) down the old fork road to the head of Lightfoots's Creek joining Jesse Edwards then down the said Creek to the mouth of a branch joining Edward's Land then up the said branch to a line formerly was between the said Peter Randle and John Randle thence near a North course to red Oak then along the said line near W course to white oak joining William Randle, thence along the said Randles line to the first STATION . . . Signed by Peter Randle and Mary Randle, and witnessed by William Randle, Mary Skinner (her mark), and Christan Morris. RECEIVED 20th of May 1780 of the within mentioned Willis Wills three thousand pounds current money of Virginia it being the consideration money within mentioned to be by him paid to Peter Randle. At a Court held for Brunswick County, the 22d Day of January, 1781. This Indenture was acknowledged by Peter Randle and Mary his wife Parties thereto, she having been first privily examined as the Law directs, and the receipt thereon endorsed was also Acknowledged by the said Peter Randle & together with the said Indenture, Ordered to be Recorded. This Indenture made this twenty second Day of January, 1781 BETWEEN William Mason, Mary, his wife, and William Gilliam of the County of Brunswick of the one part and Robert Spencer of the said County of other part . . . for and in consideration of the sum of twenty seven thousand pounds of Tobacco . . . doth grant bargain and sell enfeoff & confirm unto the said Robert Spencer . . . one certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the said County of Brunswick containing by estimation three hundred and twenty eight acres, including two acres whereon the Baptist Meeting House stands, and which is reserved and excepted out of the said tract of Land for the sole use of the said Meeting House, . . . it is bounded thus BEGINNING at a new marked line of Lewis Charleses (sic) corner on Thomas Mop's line thence along the said Thomas Mop's line to Thomas Jeffers's line, thence along the said Thomas Jeffers's line to Thomas Pears line, thence along Thomas Pears line to Mary Dunns line, thence along Mary Dunns line to a corner white oak at the edge of Lewis Charles old field, thence along a new line dividing between the said Land the Land of Lewis Charles to the beginning . . . Signed by William Mason, Mary Mason, and William Gilliam, and witnessed by Mark Jackson, John Prince, and Thomas Poythress. At a Court held for Brunswick County the 22d Day of January 1781. This Indenture was Acknowledged by William Mason and William Gilliam Parties thereto and Ordered to be recorded. Deed Book 14, page 86.
This Indenture made this sixth Day of March, 1780 BETWEEN Zachariah Bond of the County of Fairfax in the State of Virginia of the one part and Robert Rivers of the County of Brunswick in the State aforesaid of the other part . . . for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand pounds . . . do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Robert Rivers . . . one Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Brunswick containing by estimation two hundred and ninety four acres . . . and is bounded as followeth (to wit) BEGINNING at a hickory, thence South eighty one Degrees West one hundred and seventy Poles to a white Oak, thence South sixteen degrees west twenty two poles to a corner on Peebles's line, thence by his line South twenty eight Degrees east ninety eight Poles to his corner hickory, thence South fifty eight Degrees West one hundred and forty six Poles to Meltons corner red Oak, thence along Meltons line to a hickory, thence along the said line to a Pine, thence along the said line to a corner red oak, thence along the said line to a corner red oak, thence along the said line to a corner red oak, thence along the said line to a Pine on Jacksons line, thence by his line North twenty nine Poles to his corner hickory, thence North fifty eight Degrees East one hundred and twenty eight Poles to his corner Gum, thence off North eight degrees West one hundred and twenty eight Poles to the BEGINNING . . . Signed by Pierce Baily, attorney in fact for Zachariah Bond, and witnessed by John Hamilton, William Atkinson, and William Atkinson, Junr. At a Court held for Brunswick County the 26th Day of June 1780. This Indenture was proved by the oaths of John Hamelton (sic) & William Atkinson, witnesses thereto and the Receipt thereon endorsed was also proved by the oath of the said John Hamelton (sic) the Witness thereto. and at a Court held for the said County the 22d Day of January 1781 The said Indenture was proved by the oath of William Atkinson, Junr., the other Witness thereto, and together with the said receipt Ordered to be Recorded. Signed by Pierce Baily, attorney in fact for Zachariah Bond, and witnessed by John Hamelton, William Atkison (sic), and William Atkison (sic), Junr.
