Indenture made the 1st day of June, 1744, between James Hick and Benjamin Seawell, for 16 pounds, conveying 200 acres on North side of the Great Branch at James Wyches path. Witnesses were John Wall, Jr., George Hicks, and Henry Beddingfield. Acknowledged in Court on June 7, 1744, at which time Martha Hicks, wife of the said James Hicks, appeared and relinquished her dower.
