Benjamin Hicks and Martha his Wife of the Parish of Meherrin in the County of Brunswick of the one part and Lewis Hicks of the Parish and County aforesaid of the other, for one hundred pounds, sell to Lewis Hicks, All that Tract or Parcel of Land situate in Meherrin Parish in the said County of Brunswick on Hayses Creek and within the Bounds following to wit, Beginning at Robert Hicks's Corner Black Jack on Howses's line thence by Howse's line N 3 E 82 poles to his Corner Black Jack thence E 80 poles to his Corner red Oak thence N 54 E 56 poles to his Corner red Oak thence S 45 E 64 poles to his Corner white Oak thence S 27 E 240 poles to his Corner white Oak thence Et. 91 poles to his Corner pine thence N 23 E 14 poles to Tharp's Corner white Oak thence by his line S 39 E 80 poles to Howses corner red Oak thence by his line S 85 W 140 poles to his Corner between Three Trees thence N 70 W 220 Poles to the Beginning the same being granted Benjamin Hicks by Letters Patent bearing date under the Seal of the Colony the fourteenth Day of July One thousand seven Hundred and Sixty nine be the same two hundred and twenty three acres more or less. . .
