PRESTON, WALKER, HARRISON - I would like to determine the parentage of Thomas Preston, who died in the year 1798 according to will probated in Brunswick County. He married Mary Walker, and named the following children in his will: William, Anna Dunkin, Martha Bettey (m. Thomas Bettey, 1787), Thomas, Weatherington, Joshua, James, and Mary. Son Thomas (b. 1754 in Brunswick Co.; d. 1836, Walton Co., GA) m. Mary Harrison in 1780, and both are buried in Walton Co. Some accounts say that Thomas Preston, who married Mary Harrison, was the son of William Preston and Susannah Smith. But I believe their son, Thomas Lewis Preston, was born in 1781 and married Edmonia Randolph. The information of Thomas Preston, b. 1754, being the son of Thomas Preston who died in Brunswick County, came from a handwritten document in a Preston family bible. I recently saw a reference on a web page selling family group sheets to a Thomas Lewis Preston, b. ca. 1720, who came from England and married Mary Walker. I would appreciate any information on the Preston-Walker marriage, their parents, siblings, children, etc. Thank you.
