She was the daughter of Willie Jones HOBBS, II and Matilda Frances WALTON. Andrew's parents were Lockett and Cherry FERGUSON. Andrew was born 6 Jun 1836 and died 17 February 1904. Sarah was born 2 December 1846 and died 21 December 1912. She was born in Brunswick Co. and died there also. Andrew and Sarah's children were: 1. James Andrew Ferguson b. 9 February 1868 2. Willie J. James was born 21 June 1856. He married Virginia Caroline Seward, daughter of James Ruffin and E.C. Seward on 27 June 1877. James died at Roanoke Rapids, NC on 6 July 1896 and Virginia died 4 March 1937. They are both buried at the James Square Baptist Church Cemetery near Lawrenceville, VA. Children were: 1. Carrie Walton Hobbs b. 3 June 1878 married Robert CONLY. She died 10 December 1971 2. Minnie Jones Hobbs b. 5 April 1880 married Sterling SMITH. She died 4 February 1966 3. Moses is noted in Deed book from 1732 to 1749; Ralph is seen 1736 - 1748; John 1739-1745; and Robert 1748. [the dates are from the actual deed books I have in my possession, these men could be there before and after these dates] William Barrow is connected to the Dunkley family through the marriage of his daughter Nancy, to Robert Dunkley in 1805 at Laurenceville. I would like information on the Barrow f family also. James Haley and his wife Mary are also in Brunswick Co. before 1733. James dies about 1734. Mary in 1746 passed her property on to her son, James. Information on these Haleys would be helpful.

MOORE, DUNLAP, MCLEAN - Deed Book 1, p 511 of the Deed Records of Brunswick County, VA, the following appears: "At an orphans Court at Lancaster, Pa. 11/4/1741, Ephraim Moore petitions for Wm Dunlap, uncle, to be appointed the guardian of orphans of his son-in-law who died in Brunswick Co, VA where they are being cared for by relatives. My research of both counties has not produced any such records. I did find a note in county court records requesting that the administrator of estate for John McLean bring records in for the court relative to the estate, dated May 1741. Are there any orphan records available for the 1741/42 dates?
