REVIS, REVAS, REAVES - My g-grandfather, Henry W. Revis, (Revas, Reaves) was born a slave n Brunswick county abt 1835, his wife Julia ? was born abt. 1838. He had an older brother Stephen d.b. abt. 1830 and a younger sistre Martha (Maragret)d.b. abt 1840. Oral history has it that their father Richad (Dick) Revis came to Brunswick Co. Va in the early 1800's. It is also rumored that Henry aand Stephen at one time were slavers, respectively, on the Willie(William) and Peter Ross plantations. They could have lived on the W.T.Hall plantation at one time. I would like any info on the Revis family prior to 1865, especially their slave history. Thanks. Coleman R.
