RUDD, MCGARY - Any information on Polly Rudd would be appreciated. I know that her father was a farmer in Chesterfield Co., VA around 1798. Polly Rudd married a Thomas Duke McGary who started working for her father at approximately the age of 12. They had nine children. Thomas Duke died in 1833.

BOYLES - BOYLES, Henry Harrison 1853-1925. resident of Chesterfield County at the time of his death. He was the father to William Thomas Boyles and Henry Everette Boyles. I am also looking for records of his brothers, Isaac, Scott, Will and their father (name unknown) He was married to Virginia Terry form Amelia County, Va.

TEXTER - I am looking for the complete birth and death date of a Richard Texter, b: Abt 1849; d: 1899. I would also like to find his burial place in Midlothian.

ELAM, ARCHER, PHILLIPS - Looking for info on Richard and Sarah (ARCHER) ELAM, who were married in Chesterfield Co. ca 1739. Does anyone know where they lived? Their actual marriage date? I am descended from a Martin ELAM, who I think was their son. He married Mary PHILLIPS in 1775 in Lunenburg Co. VA and moved to Chester Co. SC in the autumn of 1790. Richard and Sarah ELAM had a son named Martin who was born ca 1755 and a son George born ca 1771. My Martin ELAM was about the right age and lived near a George ELAM in Chester Co. SC. Also, my Martin named his second son Richard and his second daughter Sarah. So, there seems to be some circumstantial evidence that my Martin ELAM was the son of Richard and Sarah. I'd appreciate any help with this puzzle.

MCGARY, RUDD - Researching Thomas Duke McGary married Mary "Polly" Rudd born Chesterfield Co., Va. before 1812. Family tradition is McGary stowed away on a ship from Ireland at age nine and eventually married the ship captains daughter.

ELLIOTT CRAWFORD CARTER - Looking for info on ____ Elliott, perhaps son of Robert Elliott( b. ca. 1732, d. 1799 Chesterfield Co.)he would have a son around 1812 with Elizabeth (Betsey),last name may have been Crawford. Betsey appears in Amherst Co., 1818, in will of Capt. John Crawford with son John C. Elliott. Soon thereafter she marries John S. Carter.

He was born 1786 and died Dec. 26, 1868 in Cumberland County, Kentucky. He married Frances C. Bowman, daughter of Pleasant Bowman in Chesterfield on Feb. 18, 1807. PUCKETT - In 1765 Patsy Pattman Puckett was born in Chesterfield Co VA. Her parents were John Puckett and Lucretia Crawford. Does anyone know anymore about this family? Will share descendent information.

TOWNES/TOWNS, ROBERTSON - TOWNES/TOWNS,ROBERTSON Need anything on Sarah Townes/Towns b. ca. 1710-20 (Va. ?) marr. ca. 1740 (exactly when & where?) to William "Scotch Will" Robertson b. 1705 Va. d. 1774 Chester- field Co.,Va. They had about 9 children all supposedly born in Chesterfield Co. Where is proof that Sarah was a Townes/Towns? It is given in "American Compedium of Genealogy" by Virkus Vol. 5 p.161 & Vol. 6 p. 302, but no references or sources are cited. Were Richard Townes & his bro. Wm. who operated stage carriages between Richmond & Norfolk, Va. in 1790's any relation? Does anyone have any genealogy on these 2 bros? Is Hon. George W. Townes, Governor of Ga. (date unk.) any relation? There is a small Townes sketch in "Hist. of Patrick & Henry Cos.,Va." by Pedigo p. 281, which goes back to Edw. Townes who came from Pitts. Co.,Va. FERGUSSON - FERGUSSON - Seeking info on John Fergusson/ Ferguson of Chesterfield Co. (abt 1784-1850), mar. Pitsa (Pitsy) BOTTOM in 1816. Children: James, John Thomas, Mary S (mar. a LaPrade in 1840) and William B. Owned land on Falling Creek adj. Brummell and Cox. A James Fergusson died in 1846; George LaPrade bonded to administer James' estate. Is this James Fergusson (abt 1760-1846) the father of John? Lots of circumstantial evidence, but no proof. CHAUDOIN, JOHNS, TANNER - Chesterfield County in Colonial times was the place where many Baptist Ministers were imprisoned for ministering their religion. TANNER, CHAUDOIN, and JOHNS were some of my family incarcerated there. Has there been anything written of this era, 1751-1780 or does anyone have records or court proceeding that would define this period of Chesterfield history.

HALL - We are attempting to find my husband's ancestors in Chesterfield Co. We have a copy of a land patent dated Sept. 1755 showing John Hall paid 40 shillings for 400 acres of land bordering Flournoy on one side and Welch on another side. Since we are pretty certain my husband's gt grandfather was born in 1813 near Petersburg, Chesterfield Co., it also seems very possible that this John HALL is part of our family. Can you possibly give us any info on this John HALL or John Clay HALL b 1813? We are also checking on Green HALL who is shown on the 1820 Chesterfield Co. census as being HOH, 16 to 26, and having another 16 to 26 male living in the house. SPEAR - Kempis Q. Spear was born 1890 in Noble Co., OHIO to Andrew O. and Jennie D. (Mercer) Spear. Kempis is last seen in the 1910 Ohio Census. I was told that he married and moved to Richmond VA.
