MILLER, Ray O., (Bingo), 88, of Daleville, formerly of Covington, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 27, 2002. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and served under General George S. Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked at the Rayon Corporation and owned and operated the Circle Drive Grocery in Covington. He moved to Daleville after he retired. He was preceded in death by one sister, Esterleen M. Crawford, two half brothers, Jessee and Bobby Miller and one nephew, Roger L. Crawford. He is survived by his loving wife, Leona C... Miller ; stepdaughter, Lois Carter Kerns and husband, Delbert L. Kerns of Alleghany County; stepson, Eddie G. Carter and wife, Brenda Crews of Madison Heights; stepdaughter, Lindsay S. Carter of Rock Hill, S.C.; one sister, Clara M. Givens of New Castle; his favorite pet, Baby Cakes; two nieces, one nephew, five great-nephews, one great-niece, one great-great-nephew and five great-great-nieces. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at Crossroads Church in Craig County, with the Rev. Jack Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Crawford Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel.

CRAWFORD , Joann Booth, 55, of Troutville, died Tuesday, December 2, 1997. She is survived by her husband, Garland R. Crawford ; her mother, Elsie Spradlin of Daleville; one daughter, Theresa Schenk of Troutville; two sons, Daniel Crawford of Montana and Raymond Crawford of Roanoke; two sisters, Rachel Brickey and Lena St. Clair, both of Troutville; three brothers, Johnny Booth of Roanoke, Carlton Booth of Franklin County and Dewey Booth of Martinsville, and two grandchildren, Brandi Schenk and Joanna Crawford . Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 1997, at the Rader Daleville Chapel, with the Rev. Earl Clemons and the Rev. Elmer Clemons officiating. Interment will follow in the Crawford family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
CRAWFORD , Robert Lee, 86, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, December 13, 1997 in a Roanoke hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esterleen Miller Crawford . Mr. Crawford was a retired farmer and a retired Craig County School Bus Driver. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters, and sos-in-law, Geneva and Herman Short, of Fincastle, Nora ""Sissy"" and R.J. Caldwell, of New Castle, two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Pat Crawford , Roger and Jennifer Crawford all of New Castle, five grandsons, Donald Short, Claude Short, Robert Ervin Caldwell, Jason Crawford and Dwayne Crawford , one granddaughter, Kelly Crawford Light, five great-granddaughters, Dana Short, Donna Short, Tiffany Short, Heather Short and Brooke Caldwell, a great grandson, Alex Light, a step great-granddaughter, Lisa Smith, two step-great-grandsons, Nathan Montgomery and Brandon Montgomery, a brother, Malkcom Crawford of Covington and a sister, Mrs. Ethel C. Gunner, of Fincastle. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Craig County Rescue Squad. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 1997 from Crossroads Church. The Rev. Russell N. Hall and the Rev. Ray Murphy will officiate. J., New Castle. Roger was a member of Cross Roads Church in New Castle, and was a Superintendent and long time employee of Thomas Brothers Inc., Salem. Kenneth Ray Hannah , 76, of the Bradshaw Rd. area of Roanoke County, passed away Monday, April 2, 2007. Born July 1, 1930 in Lynwood, W.Va., he served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Homestead Materials Handling Company in 1992 after 32 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Hannah and Hazel Hannah King. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Genevieve Foster Hannah ; one daughter, Debra Hannah Kendall of New Castle; two sons, Carl Ray Hannah and wife Kathy of Elliston and Dale Lee Hannah of Salem; six grandchildren, Kenny Wayne and Josh Kendall, Derek and April Hannah , Zachary and Jessica Hannah ; one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Hannah and one great-grandson Caleb; one stepgreat-grandson, Dustin; two brothers, Lewis Wade (Bee) Hannah and wife Gayle of Oriskany, and Dennis Martin Hannah and wife Janice of Salem; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Leslie Huffman, Barbara and Charles Huffman, Jimmy Foster, James and Arlene Paitsel; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She is united with her beloved husband, Charles Via (Toddy), her parents, Tolbert and Oma Rock , and brother Donald Rock . She is survived by her sisters, Mildred Via, Mary Maxey, Barbara Francisco and husband June, Linda Mollette and Jean Crockett; brother Lewis Rock and wife Lois. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, "Pretty Boy" Lucky. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Paitsel Funeral Home, New Castle. Interment will follow at Crossroads Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 Wednesday.

He is survived by wife, Lois Rock of 48 years; son and wife, Kenneth and Mary Rock ; daughter, Tammy S. Rock ; grandchildren, Faith Rock and Preston Rock -Fuhrman. Surviving sisters are Mildred Via, Jean Crockett, Linda Mollette; and special brother-in-law, Junior Francisco; and many nieces and nephews.
