Caldwell, Paul Moore On December 14th 1928, the death angle visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Esther Caldwell and took away their darling - Paul Moore Caldwell who was born January 9, 1927 - aged 1 year 11 months and 5 days. His stay on earth was short, but oh, how hard it was to give little Paul up, but dear father and mother look up through your tears and sorrow and say God doeth all things well. Funeral services were held at Tinker Creek Church, Roanoke, by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Key, and the little body was brought to Craigs Creek and laid to rest in the family burying ground beneath a beautiful mound of flowers. The pallbearers were, Mr. Becker, Seri Craft, Mr. Dillon and Mr. Pearson. The flower girls were, Bessie Munsey, Clara Huffman, Sadie Gregory, Vera Bush and Sara Harris. SIMMONS, David Edward, 48, of Catawba, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Sweeney Simmons; daughter and son-in-law, Alician S. and Robert Bratton; son and daughter-in-law, David Martin and Nancy Simmons and grandchild on the way; daughter, Olivia Brooke Simmons; parents, Hubert and Carrie Simmons; brother, Robert Simmons; parents-in-law, Randolph and Lucille Sweeney; sisters-in-law, Karen Ferguson and Wanda Wickline; canine companions, Sam and Chip; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2001 at the Paitsel Funeral Home Chapel, New Castle with Rev. Lowell Chaney officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookman Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
