From Obituaries {29 Jul 1930}
One of the largest crowds that has ever been present at Hebron Church was in attendance at the funeral and burial there Tuesday morning of Mr. Houston Crush. Mr. Crush died Sunday evening at 6 o’clock at his home just across the Craig line in Botetourt County. Mr. Crush was 52 years 10 months old and had been in poor health for some time becoming critically ill about a month ago. Surviving him are his widow Mrs. Ida Crush; two sons Ralph and Samuel of Oriskany and two daughters Mrs. Minnie Loman of Eagle Rock and Miss Kathleen Crush of Oriskany, also four brothers: Mr. Charles, Allen, Roscoe and Robert Crush of Oriskany and two sisters Mrs. Gregory Givens, Roanoke and Mrs. George Harris, Altoona, Pa. It is only natural that the neighborhood should feel this loss acutely, Mr. Crush being a member of one of the oldest and honored families of this section. Thus it is with a sincerely sympathetic feeling, consolation is offered the bereaved family.
