Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:

To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting:

Know ye, that in conformity with a survey made on the 1st day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, by virtue of Land
Office Treasury Warrant No. 18358430437 there is granted by the
said Commonwealth unto D. J. Caldwell a certain Tract or Parcel
of Land, containing One Hundred & twenty five acres lying in Craig
County on the waters of John's Creek on the south side of Potts
Mountain and bounded as follows Viz Beginning at two white oaks
corner to his own land and the land of William Craft & with the
latter S83-1/2 degree W 12-1/2 poles to a pine corner to same:
Th: N62-1/2 degrees W 120 poles to a Locust: Th: leaving Crafts
land S53 degrees W 82 poles to a black oak & pine on the point
of a ridge N84-1/2 W 70 poles to two black oaks by a Gully N33
degrees W 41 poles to a blakc oak & Chestnut on the side of a
ridge S21 degrees W 46 poles to three Chestnuts Oaks on top of
a ridge S52-14 E 120 Poles to a hickory & black oak S45-3/4 E
24-1/4 poles to a hickory & Chestnut corner to his own land N84
degrees E 11 poles crossing a branch to 3 white oaks by said
branch N 70 degrees E 192 poles to a Red Oak sapling N30-1/2
W 19 poles to the Begining with its appurtenances.

To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its
appurtenances, to the said D. J. Caldwell and his heirs forever.
In Witness Whereof, THe said Fred. W. M. Holliday, Esquire,
Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia has hereunto set his
hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be
affixed, at Richmond, in the third day of December in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty and of the
Commonwealth the one hundred and Fifth.
