WILL OF THOMAS TABB CUMBERLAND COUNTY, VA. WILL BOOK 2, PG. 291

I, THOMAS TABB of Cumberland County, being sick and weak but in sound memory to appoint this to be my will and testament as followeth:
Iten 1. I give and bequeath to my son EDWARD TABB five pounds current money of Virginia. I likewise give unto my son LANGHORNE five pounds current money of Virginia. I likewise give to my son in law ROBERT BROWNS children* five pounds current money of Virginia. I give unto my daughter MERRYMAN five pounds current money of Virginia. I give unto my daughter WALTON five pounds current money of Virginia. I give unto my daughter BOATWRITE five pounds current money of Virginia. I give unto my daughter DOUGLASS five pounds current money of Virginia. I give unto my granddaughter SMTHE MERRYMAN my black blaze face horse with my saddle and bridle but JESSE COBB is to sell the saddle for the most it will fetch towards as good a hunting saddle as can be got made and what the price the saddle fails short of the hunting saddle JESSE COBBS is to pay up. I like to give my granddaughter what hard money I have. I give unto my dau. SCRUGGS five pounds current money. Last of all a give the whole residue of what I possess real and personal to my daughter LOCKEY COBB and I do appoint JESSE COBB and my dau. LOCKEY my sole executor of my will and desire that estate be not appraised in no shape whatever the above writing contains my last will and testament
as witness my hand and seal this 8th day of January 1782.

At a Court held for Cumberland Co 22 April 1782. This last will and testament of THOMAS TABB decd was exhibited in court by JESSE COBBS executor therein named proved by ADAM COUSONS a witness thereof and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said executor who made oath according to law certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form he having with WILLIAM ANDERSON and JAMES CUNNINGHAM his securities entered into bond according to law.

What follows is the will of John Tabb, Father of Humphrey Tabb,
the immigrant. John Tabb, of Thurlestone, Co. Devon, yeoman.
Will dat. 25 Dec. 1653.

To poor of p'ish of T. 3s. 4d. To my son William T. & my two dau'rs. Alice T. & Prudence T. L30 each at 21. Whereas I have an estate in one tenement & one farthing of lands in Buckland in p'ish of Thurlstone afsd. determinable on deaths of me & my mother Alice T. out of which I am to Pay to sd. mother L10 a year for life, by will of my father William T. dec., I give same to my wife Rebecca, she paying the sd. L10 yearly. Sd. Mother to have house harbour with my wife for life. Estate in two houses & close of land (4 acres) at Coton in p'ish of Sherford for years determinable upon Anne ? Amy Nicholls for payment of L25 to Agnes Scobble da'ur of sd. A. Nicholls, to my brother in law Ellis Square on trust for sd. A. Scobble. Rest of goods to sd wife R. & she to be ex'trix. My uncle John Randoll to be overseer. Testator made his mark. Witnesses: Tho. Cornish, John Randoll, John Lakeman X, Thomas Squeare X. Proab. 22 Jun 1654 by Rebecca T., relict & ex'trix
