WHITTAKER - Searching for Joseph Whittaker born at sea in 1754 coming from England. He states in his Rev.War Pension Application that he was taken by friends and raised in North Carolina. It is a mystery of who and where in N.C. he was taken.He was bounded out for his keep or passage. He states the ship sailed up the Roanoke River into N.C. Could Elizabeth City been a port of entry?
