WINDER, GARRETT, SHEILD, BOOKER, WILSON - Florence WINDER GARRETT was born circa 1848 in York County, VA, a daughter of R.B. GARRETT and Laura WINDER. (R.B. GARRETT may actually have been R.R. (Richard Roper) GARRETT. The handwriting in the marriage index isn't too clear.) Richard and Laura WINDER GARRETT may have had at least one more child...Laura WINDER GARRETT, who married George S. BOOKER. Florence WINDER GARRETT married Dr. Mallory Armistead SHEILD April 12, 1870 in Elizabeth City Co., VA. It appears they lived most of their lives in Elizabeth County. They had two daughters; namely, Mary SHEILD and Mallory SHEILD. Mary SHEILD married Harvey Laird WILSON January 29, 1903 in Hampton, VA. After Harvey died, she married Dr. Junius Francis LYNCH. DINGES - Elizabeth City Census 1624. John Laydon,laborer, 44 married Anne Barras 30. They had Mary Margrett(1608), Alice, Susan(1606), Katherin, Margrett and Virginia. They also, had a son--John Laydon. Was Laydon, also known as Layton? The reason I asked in 1720 a Will was issued John Layton(John Laton). Did they have anymore sons? Tell me about all you know about it. Thanks.

GARRETT - I am researching the family of Richard Roper Garrett. I believe his family was from the York County/Elizabeth City County area,Virginia. Richard Roper Garret married Laura Winder and they had the following children: Penelope W. Garrett b. circa 1838 Mary Louisa Garrett b. July 8, 1841 d. December 2, 1890 Florence Winder Garrett b. 1848 in York County d. September 7, 1889 Laura Winder Garrett b. circa 1852 Alexander Garrett b. circa 1855 Is anyone familiar with this family?
