EUBANK, HEMINGWAY - Eubank Family - I am looking for information on the Eubanks who settled in Dunnesville VA. The first names are William and Mary (Hemingway) Eubank. They had at least 2 sons named Thomas P Eubank M.D. born in Oct.1819 and a son named Richard Eubank. The 2 brothers married sisters from Laurel MD: Annie Maria Talbott and Susanna Talbott. Susanna was the author of a life of Stonewall Jackson. I am descended from her son, Richard Watson Eubank, born abt. 1859. He married Nettie Scott, the daughter of a Baptist minister.

SMITH, THORNTON, ALLEN - Would like any information on a John Smith (1) who married (twice) Elizabeth Thornton and Barbara Allen. Not sure which wife was first and second. John Smith (1) had son named John Smith (2) and probably son or brother named William Thornton Smith. John Smith (1) was in the Essex/Richmond/Old Rappahannock cty. area in the late 1600's and died there in 1723. Barbara Allen is thought to be the only member of her family to come to America from England. Elizabeth Thornton was dau or gr dau of William Thornton of Thornton Hall, Buckingshire England. John Smith (2)b 1737 d 1818, Jackson Cty. Ga., married Elizabeth Hendrick, dau of John Hendrick and gr dau of Hans/Hance Hendrix. They moved to Amelia/Halifax cty area (Flatt Creek) and later to Jackson County Ga. where he died in 1818.

EDMONDSON - EDMONDSON- Sons of Liberty. I read somewhere that some Essex County Edmondson's were members of the Sons of Liberty during the Revolutionary war. Does anyone know the reference or which ones were members?
HUTS - An ancestor, Jacob Huts, enlisted in the Virginia Militia in 1757. We had thought that he was a recent German immigrant but a fellow researcher has advised that there was a Hutt family in Rappahannock or Essex Counties in the 1600's. Would appreciate any information on a Hutt family in Essex County.
GRIFFIN, STUART, MERCER - I am looking for the decendants of Cyrus Griffin. I know he was born in 1748 in Farnham Va. He died in Yorktown Virginia about 1810. He was married to the Honorable Christina Stuart, born in Richmond Va., (1741 or 1752 I have two dates & I am not sure where), and died in 1841 in Williamsburg Va. I also know he is the great great grandfather of George Anderson Mercer. He was in the first Continental Congress in Williamsburg. FIERS - My g-g-g-grandfather, Thomas L Fiers was born Essex Co 8.8.1798. in 1804 family moved to Greene Co, Ohio. Obit of TLF says family lived in Essex Co for several generations and many of his ancestors fought in the American Rev. It also says he enjoyed an interesting family history. TLF fought in War/1812 under Gen Harrison in Northwest Ohio. In 1870 TLF moved family to Redkey, Jay Co, Indiana. He d 2.17.1888. I believe he is the son of either William, Benjamin, Henry or Charles Beazley, sons of William Beazley. I would appreciate any info on the Beazleys and can share any info that I have. Thanks!
TALIAFERRO, TRIPLETT - Elizabeth Taliaferro was born about 1691 in Powhattan Plantation, Essex Co., VA. She was married to John Catlett about 1703. She was married to Thomas Triplett in 1725 in Essex Co., VA. Does anyone know of children, especially born to Elizabeth and Thomas Triplett? Virginia Phelps.

BURK(E) - Thomas Burk(e) emigrated to Essex county ca 1715. His mother's surname was Nalle. His uncle, Martin Nalle died 1727. I am descended from both Martin and Thomas. I have searched records of Essex county for the one hundred year period 1700-1800 and have compiled information on a number of families, Allen, Hardee, Nalle, Coleman, Smith, Griggs, and many others. I would like to exchange notes with any interested persons.

HARRISON, THOMAS, WILLIAMS - James HARRISON, his daughter, Katherine HARRISON THOMAS and her husband, John THOMAS, and James' son-in-law, William WILLIAMS, all died about the same time, just before 8 May 1712. Jael HARRISON WILLIAMS was the wife of William WILLIAMS, and she didn't die at this time. She was the executrix for the estates of her father James HARRISON, and her husband, William WILLIAMS. DABNEY, LATANE - I am trying to locate a photograph of the "Burial of Latane". Captain William Latane's grave is somewhere in Essex County.
