He probably brought his two sons, Samuel, Jr. and John to Virginia from England. Samuel Sr. married a second time to Sarah Catlett, daughter of Col. John and Elizabeth (Underwood) Catlett. NICHOLS --- Looking for NATHAN NICHOLS b. 1748 "eastern shores of Va." PARENTS, siblings. Nathan owned land in the Frederick Co. area and surrounding counties. His father, name not known, was a Baptist minister, and his mother died when Nathan was very young. His father remarried and Nathan left, his family. He traveled west and settled in Winchester, where he married Hannah HODGSON in 1784. Sometime in 1795, he went to OHIO. He died in 1822. Believe he was in the Dunmore's War, with possibility of his brother. His eldest son, Philip was in War of 1812.
Nathan Nichols was a shoemaker in the earlier part of his life. There are two apprentices of Va. (1623-1800 - H. B. Gill) listed for master John Nichols/shoemaker in Lancaster County, eastern shores of Va. pp 301-323 (Lancaster Co Orders 7). Am hoping that Lancaster County or surrounding counties...King and Queen, Essex, Middlesex...could be the County that will hold the key to finding Nathan Nichols' family.

Jeter, Kay, Merreman, Pemberton, Rawlins, Raines, Rogers, Rollins, Samuel, Samuels, Tatum plus others, all from Caroline County. Anyone

RENNOLDS/REYNOLDS - MILLER ---
Need Proof that Ann Rennolds (d.1810 Madison Co.) wife of Thomas Reynolds (d. ca.1803 Botetourt Co.) was the daughter of Maj./Col. Simon Miller (d. 1892 Essex Co.) John & Ann's children: John m. Magdaline Thomas l. Botetourt Co., James, William, Thomas went to Ky., Reuben, Henry"Harry" l.Madison Co., Betty Mcgee(Samuel), Sarah Loyd (Thomas), Martha "Pattey or Patsy" (John). The Reynolds/Rennolds family lived in Caroline Co. during 1770's & 80's. Thomas (school master) lived part time in Bot. w/ son John. Ann moved to Madison by eary 1890's. (Several of Simon Miller's other dau's. also lived in Madison Co.
EVANS - HENLEY - McGUFFEE - McGUIRE - PAGETT --- Susannah Pagett shows up in court records of Essex Co., Va. when her "will" was dated on 11 July 1698, Essex Co., Va. She was married apparently three times...(1) Evans, (2) McGuire, (3) John McGuffee. Susannah apparently had children: John, Thomas, Benjamin and Elizabeth Evans; Phillip McGuire; and Susannah, Sarah, John and Ephraim McGuffee.
I would love to hear from anyone researching this Pagett line with information on Susannah and any of the marriages and or children listed above. I descend from Susannah and John McGuffee through their son John McGuffee who married Jane Henley. Thanks so much.
