1.   John CRUMP was born about 1690 in Virginia.  John married Hannah TRAVERS about 1715 in Virginia.  His will is found in Hamilton Parish, Prince William  County, Virginia dated 23 Jun 1746.

      2a.  Elizabeth CRUMP was born 19 OCT 1717 in St Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, 
             Virginia.  Elizabeth married William BLACKWELL (Capt) about 1734.  Elizabeth died about
             25 Apr 1801 in Fauquier County, Virginia.
      2b.  Mary CRUMP was born about 1719 in St Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia.
             Mary married a Mr Middleton about 1739 in Virginia.
      2c.  John CRUMP II was born 21 Aug 1720 in St Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia.
            John married Elizabeth "Betty" TRIPLETT about 1740 probably in Prince William County, 
            Virginia.
      2d.  Hannah CRUMP was born 11 Jul 1723 in St Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia.
             Hannah married Thomas TRIPLETT about 1740.
      2e.  Susannah CRUMP was born 11 July 1723 in St Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia.
             Susannah married James HEWITT about 1744 probably in Prince William County, Virginia.
      2f.  Benjamin CRUMP was born about 1726 probably in Northumberland County, Virginia.
             Benjamin married Mary Burgess PRICE 12 Apr 1756 in Orange County, Virginia.
      2g.  George Crump was born about 1726 probably in Northumberland County, Virginia
      2h.   Joseph CRUMP was born about 1731 probably in Northumberland County, Virginia.

       2c.  John CRUMP was born 21 Aug 1720 in St Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia.
            John married Elizabeth "Betty" TRIPLETT.  Elizabeth TRIPLETT was the daughter of William
            TRIPLETT and Elizabeth "Betty" HEDGMAN.  Elizabeth was born about 1724 and died in 
            Fauquier County, Virginia about 1790.  Hedgman Family
            2c1.  George CRUMP was born about 1749 in Prince William County, Virginia.  He married
                  Nancy.   George and Nancy were married about 1769 probably in Fauquier County or a 
                  nearby county.
            2c2.  Elizabeth CRUMP was born about 1750 in Prince William County, Virginia.  Elizabeth 
                   died about 1795 in Fauquier County, Virginia.  Elizabeth CRUMP married Harman
                   UTTERBACKabout 1769 probably in Fauquier County, Virginia
            2c3.  Mary CRUMP was born about 1752 in Prince William County, Virginia.  Mary CRUMP 
                    married Tyler WAUGH 25 Aug 1773 in Fauquier County, Virginia.

Written 5 Feb 1789 and Proved 28 Sep 1789
In the name of God Amen. I John CRUMP of the county of Fauquier and parish of Hamilton being in perfect memory the low and weak in body do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made declaring this to be my last will in manner and form following:
Viz I recommend my precious and immortal soul to God who gave it me, hoping the merits and mediation of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to obtain full pardon of my sins, my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and to what worldly it has pleased God to bless me with I dispose as follows:
Item, I give unto my son George Crump five shillings and to my daughters Elizabeth Utterback and Mary Waugh, Hannah Branan, and Ann Lewis the same ?? give shillings each.
Item I give to my son William and Daniel Crump one feather bed and furniture each. Item I give to my daughters Sarah and Catherine Crum one feather bed and furniture each.
Item I give unto my son John Crump the land whereon I now live and all the land I am possessed with during his life if he don't take up with or mary a certain woman by the name of Mary Westall. I would with it be understood that my desire is that my said son John should possess as everything both real and personal not all ready bequeather during his life if he don't make or take up with said woman, or attempt to sell rent lease of convey the said property in any manner whatsoever. And at his death to go and belong to my Son
Daniel and his heirs forever, but if my said son John Crump should do or attempt to do either the said things objected to by this will my will is that the land and property do immediately go and belong to my said son Daniel and his heirs forever.
Item my will and desire is that my daughter Sarah and Catharine Crump shall have the used of Chamber room so long as they shall live single and that my son John Crump is to pay off creditors and receive my debts and to this and do for them as in my life time my will and desire is that there should be an appraisement of my estate. Lastly I constitute and appoint my brother George and Benjamin Crump, William Eustace ???? and John James Executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 5th day of February One Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty Nine.

At a court held for Fauquier County the 28th day of September 1789 this will was proved and by the oaths of John James and John Shumate witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.

  • 14 Jul 1724 - John Crump

    1799 - 7 Dec.: Petition to establish a town of "sixteen acres of land belonging to John Crump contiguous to the Church of Elk Run and the land of John Shumate..." This petition was granted and passed 6 Jan 1800 by the General Assembly.
