    DEEDS: The first land purchase in a county may identify the previous residence of the grantee. The land land sale in a county may identify the new residence of a grantor. KNOW the terms 'grantee' and 'grantor'. When land is sold, the dower traditionally must be released. This, then, identifies the given name of the wife. Once again, keep a record of ALL witnesses to a deed or any legal document. Frequently, these are close relatives. As research develops, these people will 'fall' into place.
