Fauquier County,Virginia was formed 1 May 1759 from Prince William County, Virginia. Warrenton (22186) is the County Seat. It received its name from Francis Fauquier, Governor of Virginia at the time. Fauquier County has great traditions and stories in its past which will intrigue all genealogist and lovers of history.
