ATKINS, BONDERANT, FORREST, STEGALL, WINFIELD -
I am searching for info on the following families, STEGALL, BONDURANT, ATKINS,
WINFIELD, and FORREST. Allen S. Stegall, born 1775 in Virginia and died between 1840
and 1850. He married Lucy Forrest, born 1775 and died Feb 14, 1853. They had the following children.
Martha b 1793, Richard W. b. 1807, Frances b. 1810, Alfred Jones b. 1816, and Henry Forrest b. Jul 15, 1816.
There were three more unidentifed male children and one unidentified female child. Henry Forrest married
Mary Jane Bonderant. She was born May 5, 1827. They had the following children: Thomas Washington,
Sarah Frances, Mary J., Hettie Newell, John Henry, and Bonner Forrest. John Henry married Mary Alice
Atkins ( we think that is her last name. She may have gone by Alice. Her mother's maiden name may
have been Dolly Winfield. They had the following children: Hattie B., Henry J or James Henry,
Forrest, Bessie, Sallie J., Leahley, and Wade. It seems that Allen on down through John Henry were born in
Franklin County.

CLEMENT, COOK, TURNER -
I am looking for information on Samuel Shrewsbury Cook, son of Samuel Cook and Sarah (Sallie)
Turner. Sarah was born in 1804 in Bedford County and married Samuel Cook from Franklin County.
They had at least one child and Samuel Cook died in 1830. Sarah then married Dr. George Washington
Clement and they lived in Franklin County. I have seen a report of an obituary in the Lynchburg paper
that could have been this Samuel's indicating that several of his children had died and that he left only a
daughter and widow. Any help would be appreciated.
