RENFRO, RENTFRO -
Looking for info on John RENFRO (RENTFRO). Have notation that John RENTFRO, Thos. ARTHUR and Spencer CLACK paid for services as Commissioners for running the dividing line between Franklin and Henry Counties. Note goes on to say he was about to move to NC. My John RENFRO showed up in present day Burke in 1790 census. Need any info available on John Renfro of that area. Thanks.

DAVIS -
I am the Grandson of Squire Richard DAVIS who moved from Roanoke to Franklin County, Gladehill, Rt. 2 Box 304 (currently) in the early 50's. I believe he passed away in 1971 or 72 and is buried in the family cemetery on the site. His Father built the house and also lived there, but I'm not sure of his name. I have lots of DAVIS relatives in the Gladehill community and need any information or possible other sources you may have on the ancestors of S.R. DAVIS. I have been concentrating on the Cunningham Surname up til now and I am just beginning my DAVIS research. Appreciate any advise, direction or info you may have.

BOWMAN, LAYMAN -
Looking for the names of John D. LAYMAN's parents. John was born March 12, 1860 in Franklin Co., VA. He died April 25, 1906 in Covington, Miami Co., OH. He was married to Martha P. BOWMAN who was born January 12, 1868 and died in 1939. They had 10? children. The only childs name I have is Opal May Layman who was born July 27, 1902 in Covington, OH.

FALLEY, HALDEMAN, SHOWALTER -
I am searching for info about my ggggrandfather, Henry SHOWALTER. His brother John settled in Franklin County and married Barbara FALLEY. Henry married Magdalena HALDEMAN and settled on the Roanoke River. Henry d. c1841. Both Henry and John originally came from Germany via Pennsylvania to Virginia.
